Hijda, a new oil painting.

I finished a new oil painting over last week.

Finished another painting this morning... Here.

After a long time, I managed to finish up a painting. The hiatus was worth it.

The Shameless I post

'Rendile' 72" (h) X 101" (w), an oil done by me last year was among the artworks recently chosen by Ugallery.com for a show titled "Urban Canvas". The show is to be held on the evening of April 21st at the Openhouse Gallery in NoLIta, NYC. The event, a team effort made possible by the UJA Federation of New York and the online gallery Ugallery.com is to raise awareness for art therapy. I am happy.

Painting Post

'Red Lincoln', Oil on unstretched canvas, 72" (width) X 90" (height)

'Stilled Life', Oil on unstretched canvas, 56" (w) X 82" (h)

'Moksha II', Oil on canvas, 88" X 84", 2008

Continuing the series of paintings started here, I completed this last night. This took about three weeks to complete. I used a deep cadmium red hue and it seemed to contrast and overlay well over the un-stretched, non-gessoed canvas. I liked it.

Fools Gold

The other day someone enquired as to why I was not selling any of my paintings and I told her that I was not really ready to… On thinking about it some more during our conversation I also remember mentioning that I was really not too sure if anyone would want to buy works of mine. To this, the individual countered that only if one plans on selling the works does one know the true worth of the work.
I replied that they were worth a lot to me and I was happy with that for now...
