Project Red Bull Stratos involves sending Felix Baumgartner to the stratosphere in a small space capsule, lifted by a helium-filled balloon. At 120,000 feet after three hours of ascending, he’ll jump from his temporary perch and in 35 seconds will hit supersonic speeds and break the sound barrier. The jump is planned for sometime in 2010.
