Your brushstrokes look very heavy, are you trying something new?

Good observation - the brushstrokes are not that heavy - although I concede - a little heavier than usual.
Mostly the picture was really not taken at the right angle leading to a lot of extraneous stray reflections and the like from the painted surface...
