In gun we lust

Family picture: Rafael, with his wife, Cathy, and daughter, Victoria, and dogs Romulus and Remus

An interesting photo audio gallery on Newsweek here on gun ownership in America.

Law: The Second Amendment states "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Statistic: Average number of annual gun-related deaths in the U.S. has fallen in recent years, but the total remains at more than 30,000.

Update: In addition to the daily reminders in the news as regards people being mowed down by guns due to the relatively easy access to the same, I was reminded of its pernicious effects a little more when three teenagers were shot down execution style in Newark (about half hour from our home). They were just lined up against the wall and shot in the back of the heads. You know, guns just make the dirty business of killing a lot easier. You do not have to look in their eyes.

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, that definitely is a 'sad but true' kind of an image...
