Painting post - deviation from usual:
My first painting on hard wood board - was fairly difficult as finished board does not have the coarseness of canvas and hence had to play around a bit with the consistency of the oil paint. I think it came out to be all right in the end. This painting titled 'Classic Torso - I', is my first painting for this year and is quite a bit of a deviation from my usual theme : faces (I really did not have the requisite sized canvas to paint a face and was too lazy to go out and get one in time). This is about 60 inches high by 28 inches wide and took quite some time to complete...

This is really great, I like the colors and the pose. To me it almost looks like a medical scan. Nice job. Btw, the previous post about speaking in tongues was really interesting.

Lesly,
Thanks for looking at my blog. I typically manage to finish up an oil once in about 15 - 20 days. Please check back for more when you get a chance...
I liked the concept of your blog and I will be coming back for more...

oh man, that is really cool!
I love working on wood, but the painting approach is definately different eh!

I did a number of paintings on wood a few years ago and had a hard time reverting to canvas...too bouncy.

This is really cool, I'll have to take another look at your other painting to see the change.

It does look like a medical scan.

Jafabrit,
Thanks for coming by. Glad you liked it.

Cynthia,
Guess I got the greys a little bit too bold and that may be reason why some parts of this painting could look like a scan... Glad you liked this one...
