Wow - not sure what the title actually means. It looks like the whole painting has drops of blood running down. The face is there, but not specifically distinguishable. Very eerie - yes, I think you accomplished what you set out to do.
But I still say not very distinguishable - maybe meant to be that way, as the man is an amalgam of what others want him to say - he does not have an original thought.

Sunflower - looks like you got it... I had meant it to be a little diffuse and spaced out... (like you say - like the man himself)...
